STORY TELLER SECRETS
Speak Easy
The main part of being a writer is, well, writing! If you’re anything like me, that means you like imagining how best to tell a story and then, quietly creating, just you and the keyboard. So, every time I was asked to share my writing at a book signing or community event, I found it rather terrifying. I took a public speaking class. I learned a lot, but there was one tip that helped me the most.

Remember that your listeners, are envisioning your story, while you speak. They may be facing you, but they aren’t really looking at YOU, their minds are on your words. Kind of like when you read a book, you’re not really noticing the page, or even the words, your mind sees the story. That piece of knowledge took the pressure off of me. Hope it helps you too.
